When creating my coat of arms I decided to keep it simple and try to put across a simple message. The game of survivor, especially online is essentially a story of relationships. It’s a social experiment of how far you can extend the olive branch before it breaks. In a game where friendship and allegiance is everything, you need others to extend the olive branch for your own survival and theirs.
I chose the Olive Tree to go in the middle not just for the saying “Extend the Olive Branch.” but for the great meaning it has in Jordan Culture.
Jordan was once known to be apart of the Ancient Fertile Crescent. A place known in the world for it’s rich soil. The most abundant and historically recognized piece of vegetation cultivated in Jordan is the Olive Tree. They say the local olive tree originated in Amman.
Do to harsh climate, it would seem the people of Jordan really benefited from the extension of a literal olive branch for their own survival as well.
When it came to adding some decor; I felt that the season has a bit of a fire theme going on. I chose to not only use the tribe color of red, but tried to emulate the seasons theme. In this game, fire means life; and it also encompasses the passion and fight of every player. The fire ribbons along with the altered logo is meant to bring that out.
The final addition to the coat of arms is my take on the hidden immunity idol. An object in the game that emulates power and achievement. This in addition to the message presented I feel describes my tribe in it’s entirety.
Katabu which means “They Write” in Arabic is a story of relationships. The extension of the olive branch between people who have a likeminded passion and a fire in them to not only achieve their goals but to be powerful in their own right.
