Previously on iSurv1vor
- Fifteen brand new castaways were joined by three returning players and three legendary players known for their skills in Physical, Mental or Social.
- Both Ricky and Mandy embraced her new roles, but Nicole was struggling to lead her tribe in any direction
- At the Immunity Challenge, the Mental (Karak) tribe led by Ricky stormed to victory followed shockingly by the Physical (Anjara) tribe after Nicole defeated Mandy in a tie-break
- Tribal Council for the Social (Madaba) tribe saw Melissa and KM vote in the minority whilst the rest of the tribe voted KM out and Mandy handed the first Salvation Cup to Reynolds in an effort to keep the tribe strong. In the last moments of the round, the remaining players on Madaba voted to keep Mandy in her role.
- 20 are left, who will be voted out next?

I am alright with this vote off... She didn't do much for me in the confessional and I feel like she didn't do much for the team.
I can't wait for the game to pick up and confessionals to start getting interesting.
I am still rooting for Racine... and I think I like Davis too. I'll decide this round!
Thank you iSurv1vor for providing me something to distract me from Grad School!

BAI KM!
I'm hoping with the revealing of the new twist, we see some new, fresh strategies emerge. Right now everything seems kind of cut and dry in terms of the divisions on each tribe. The coach twist (salvation cup and the ability to dethrone) adds a brand new layer to the game.
#playtowin bitches!

So I just watched Ricky's latest... love it! He seems like he has come a long way since India... as you would expect. I feel like he has diagrams and outlines and post it notes with strategic steps placed around his room keeping track of all this. Axis of Evil ( even though they were the good guys ) Ricky would have fallen apart by now.
Also, Davis has moved up on my list. I like that he is getting close with Nicole. That Salvation Cup can be key. Is Nicole playing him talking to him about being the strongest or is she serious? I guess only time will tell but I do look forward to seeing him play. I don't know if I would call myself "Dirty D" though.
Looking forward to Episode 2!

I loved KM's double chins in that challenge. It game me "Golden Corral" realness. I am still wondering who that 2nd vote for Shon was. Based off of Melissa's new confessional, it was her, at least I'm guessing. I think she was shocked to go but I hope she can get it together in redemption. The look on that tribes face when it was announced was priceless. Now I wonder if votes will be more strategic.
I'm excited to see if Ricky can hold his team together or will Anjara or Madaba come up from behind and slaughter Karak.
So much to look forward to this episode.

So I figured I'd make an actual forum post for a change of pace. I wasn't very present this past round, but I'm here and I'm ready to go. Somewhat surprisingly, I think Karak is my favourite tribe currently. Not necessarily because I'm vibing with any of the players, but overall, they seem to be the superior tribe (I mean, they did place first overall last round). I also think Ricky is the best equipped coach to lead a tribe to victory. I'm pretty impressed with his confessionals, insight and intuition. It's a very different experience watching him than it is playing with him... and this is exactly why I don't like playing with him. Anjara is probably my least favourite tribe? They're just... dull, honestly. Nicole sorta said it best; they're all very awkward people. Derby is... so awkward, which is too bad because I sort of liked her questionnaire video. I'm not a fan of Carlos, but I respect the game he's playing and it's pretty impressive that pretty much everyone thinks they're closest with him. This might be circumstantial; he's not exactly against strong social players. Davis... makes me a little sad, tbh. >_> I don't have many thoughts on the others in that tribe currently. Madaba... I'm kind of rooting for Melissa, just because she's put herself in a bit of an underdog situation. It's entirely of her own doing, but still. I'm not sure I feel super keen on the idea of Dylan being her target, though, although I get why.

Someone help me out... is Melissa driving while ranting about Dylan and Nicole being together? I refuse to watch anyones confessionals who make them while driving. The only reason I watched this one was because I had it playing in the background while I typed a lesson plan... then when I flipped over I saw it!
Honestly, I feel like Nicole and Dylan would respect this game enough to not "cross tribal lines" but I can see that being a concern for people... not one they need to have but a concern.
She needs to go...

The best part of Melissa's confessional was that her son was in the background lmfao.

I'm not a fan of Carlos, but I respect the game he's playing and it's pretty impressive that pretty much everyone thinks they're closest with him. I also have a new respect for Carlos after watching his latest video. I loved listening to his plan with Nicole and how he can use her to his advantage, multiple different ways. The confessionals I watched, everyone was like let me be nice to the coach so I can get the salvation cup but not Carlos. He's talking about dethroning Nicole and putting an ally in position of coach to control the salvation cup. I also love that he saw the flip side of Nicole having 2 other people in the game with her. She was like, align with me because I have Ricky and Dylan for later but he saw that as more reason to get her out. He also saw the other side of things like keeping her around for challenges once she was dethroned... or getting rid of her. He has a plan... it is just a matter of following through with it.

I agree that Ricky seems to be the best equipped and the most INTO his roll as a coach. At least Mandy's tribe didn't overthrow her that was great to see. I think that Nicole's tribe would not hesitate to put someone else in a leadership position given the chance. I like this twist. Although Nicole telling people she doesn't want to play may be a strategy, if it's true I don't know why she agreed. Most, if not all of us are expecting the coaches to enter the game at some point aren't we?

Soooo Happy that Mandy wasn't overthrown. That says a lot about the relationships she has built within her tribe.
As a coach, Ricky is showing that he can motivate and teach. Yes, very different from Ricky-the-Player.
I'm not judging Melissa and her drive-by confessionals. I have a 1 hour drive to and from work. At least 30 minutes of it is pretty much desolate highway. Yep, clip the phone to the vent and talk away. No eye contact in the videos, but usually have on my sunglasses anyway!
Hoping things start to pick up. I think there's some drama potential. It's just still early and nice-nice is the name of the game.

Loved the first vote off hopefully she's buried in the cemetery soon! I do however believe she was a tad to good for first boot but damn girl needed to go regardless
I love the fact that Melissa finally opened and said how close her and KM were, while in the first confessionals right after tribal she seemed like she was completely giving up but seemed like she was finally able to wake up this morning and get her head back in the game some I'm interested to see how she tries to keep herself around
Davis Watched his new confessionals he seems very smart with what he's doing he has been playing enough of all the sides to be in a great position right now
Carlos Wow he is so sure of himself he thinks he has this in the bag he believes that everyone looks up to him and wants to work with which I just find funny because as much as I like how he looks I think he's going to crash and burn maybe not soon but his time will come
I'm off to check out some more but those are my thought for the moment
Alright Here is my last impressions of episode two
Kate She definitely seems like she's having fun I hope she builds stronger connections with her whole tribe though, she's someone I feel who depends on certain people and pretty much ignore the rest so hopefully she can overcome that some.
Ricky He's a lot of fun for sure, I feel like he can come across strong though but I think he's just honest. I hated how Nicole was so offended by what he had said at the results I thought he was explaining why he was genuinely worried coming into this challenged, while I don't think Anjara's flag was as bad as he made it I didn't seem him coming off as a super jerk like some did. Oh and Ricky it did say in criteria well here's the quote "and if your write-up enhances the masterpiece or drags it down"
Jay Oh poor Jay I really like him but he seems to be the one there looking at to go if they were to lose, he definitely seems to be fighting to stay though and I'd love to see the three boys dominate the girls honestly but I do love Desiree so it's hard to really want that to happen lol
Fabian He is such a great guy I think he's smart and someone that is great to have around for the tribe but it seems his position is just slightly better then Jays but I definitely have faith we will see Fabian go far in this game his it's going to be interesting to see where his loyalty will be if they lose because he mentions being close to Des as well as Jay and Travis
Desiree OMG she was totally slaying KM in one of her confessionals and I just died I love Des she is so full of life and fun to watch and I think she seems to be in quite a decent spot for now as long as she doesn't let the boys alliance cause a mess of things for her mainly Travis I should say considering he is the one who has it out for her.
Travis Oh Travis I think he is really funny I enjoy watching his confessionals I do however think he's a little to much and we won't see him going very far in this game. Loved the wine part haha
Izzy! She was boring me Ughh But then BAM She was celebrating not going to tribal with shots and I just thought that was great lol
Shon I wish he would build stronger relationships with people and just put his head in the game a bit more I feel like he has what he needs to be a great player but however he isn't bringing it as much as he says he is from what others seem to say
Stephanie I really like steph she is one of my favorites I definitely think she has to bring a little more personality but she does come off shy at first so hopefully she just warms up more over time I'm really hoping to see Madaba take a break from going to tribal because I do like all the players they have left
Reynolds I feel like he's doing a good job being involved with his tribe people seem to really trust him I really would love to see him Stephanie and Dylan stay together so if they do go to another tribal Shon goes. Which doesn't seem very impossible lol
Dylan He has great confessional he's doing an awesome job playing right now I feel like as long as he keeps maintaining his relationships and making sure people don't believe Nicole being his girlfriend will impact the game I know he's mentioned he really wants to get further then her in this game to Reynolds and he feels like he can trust him so that's definitely great for Dylan.
Mandy She is doing a good coaching I feel like she is doing as much as she can as a coach with what was handed to her and I feel like she is good as long as she stays in that position
Nicole She is super fun and outgoing she is playing an awesome game she is so observant she knows what everyone on her tribe is doing she knows the secrets and if something is being hidden from her she figures it all out!
Carlos He is his tribes favorite lol I swear everyone likes him thinks he's here number one he is literally playing every single angle he possibly can and I can't wait to see what happens when he gets a swap thrown at him lol
Davis He is super smart but paranoid, he's playing a good social game it seems like he has relationships with everyone and he seems to be in a great position
Racine I like him a lot too but I haven't really figured out what his strategy is and what exactly he is doing and I feel like he would be an easy person to go
Patia She is super confident and seems to be liked well enough by her tribe but she honestly doesn't jump out at me for anything besides she likes the boys lol
Feelings on KMs exit interview Bitch I don't like you either She seemed so oblivious to everything going on around her and the fact she couldn't see any reason for her to be voted out is just lame you don't get voted out for no reason and if she does by some miracle come back she isn't going to do any better if she doesn't change how she came in to the game playing
Melissa and Emily were both voted out I'm definitely not surprised by this and can't see it hindering either tribe any having them gone

Coaches it's really interesting to see how the coaches all received the coach twists. as a couple of other people have said, i really think ricky is really embracing the the advantages of being a coach and manipulating things in a way to set himself up in a good spot if/when he's thrown into the game. he's working to cover all of his basis, but still maintaining the perception that he's "coaching". also, yaaaaaas for getting drunk like every night. if survivor went back to having luxury items, i would pack a case of champagne because it's crucial. mandy is being mandy. she social and endearing, but not sure how that'll fair in the scope of this twist down the line. nicole... pulling through in a clutch was great, especially keeping her safe as the coach. he tribe is so fucking awkward and ready to toss each other under the bus, she's doomed as soon as they lose. i also need her not to be so gullible to think that carlos' sudden desire to start talking to her immediately after the reveal of the twist is anything but strategy on his part and is not one bit genuine.
Anjara definitely the carlos/davis show, but i like racine lurking in the shadows, strategizing but not putting himself out there or attaching himself with the other guys. i'm loving patia's position, but starting to think that she just... fell into it and it was less of a conscious thing. i need her not to have so much faith and confidence in carlos, but still work that angle. i'm getting a "tibet kay" vibe from emily... like, she's in a shitty position, but if she makes it far enough and gets into a situation in which she can wrangle some troops, she's golden... i'm not counting her out. derby is just... there. i need her to flick off for my pure viewing entertainment.
Karan I'm enjoying the fact that Jay has been knocked down a peg... and he has a new fire. he's pretty arrogant, but i'm ready for his rage. wtf is with the weird tribal dynamic this season on all the tribes? like, on one hand they all seem super excited, but they don't even communicate with each other on a regular basis and all seem weird. anyway... I like the fact that Desi is continuing to nurture that bond with Izzy... seems like Kate is working with the girls too (since she doesn't even talk to Jay lol), but it's hard to tell since she decided to give me two minutes of the most vague outlining of her relationships on her tribe not naming any names. Travis is so sprung for Jay... poor thing. Not sure if it'll be something that'll put him in a shit position yet... Fabi is the wild card. It's weird because Desi doesn't trust him at all, but he named Desi as his favorite person after the first 3 days. Either side needs to pull someone to their side since it's looking like a possible 3/3 split. I understand that Izzy is trying... but girl, those confessionals? She's adorbs though and possibly unintentionally in a good position atm.
Madaba So, Reynolds is definitely working the group right now... I'm liking that he's smart enough to get his majority, but keeping a good side thing with Steph is super smart. Melissa... pure entertainment. Like, I just can't. But, I am excited to see her attempt to stir the pot and throw Dylan under the bus because, she MAY actually be able to get some people on her side if she spins it right. But then again, it's Melissa. Oy. Shon really irritates me for some reason... like I don't understand how his mind is working. He constantly contradicts himself. Playing dumb and acting like you don't understand survivor yet hustling to get a block or alliance together? Girl bye... it SHOULD be so clear that you're being disingenuous and make you look shady AF, but who the fuck knows with this group. Also, his #1 is Reynolds, yet he completely contradicted everything that Reynolds is looking to do as far as relationships... might see a clash if they are put into a situation where they don't agree. I'm enjoying getting Steph's perspective on the tribe. She's an on the fence kind of player, but you don't have to come out of the gate gun's blazing... unless your tribe fucking sucks and you keep going to tribal over and over again. She's likable enough, so I think she'll get through... and she really doesn't want to go back to tribal because she knows she's next after Melissa.

I am perfectly fine with what happened at the first Tribal Council. As much as I liked KM, I did not see much of her in confessionals and her response during the immunity challenge was obviously not the best. I think her tribe knew she would possibly be problematic in the future. I am not sure why Melissa gave Shon a vote when she could have stuck with majority. I understand she is your friend and everything, but I mean who else would honestly go home over the person that got frustrated during the first immunity challenge?
My thoughts on everyone thus far:
Ricky - Yes, best friend! #SlayJay and make sure he gets out as soon as possible! Even if Ricky explained to others that the way Jay viewed himself was a villain previously, which caused him to get pissed with him and confront him / have Travis stirring the pot about it, I think he is making the right choice! Here is to hoping that if they ever do go to Tribal Council, that Ricky will have all of the girls in his hand because he will need it! I am also loving all these confessionals!
Nicole - I'm having a hard time understanding her place in the game. She just seems to be everywhere for me. I feel like she might need to be more serious and take the game more seriously too, because I feel the same emotions in each confessional. I don't think it would be a good idea to work with Carlos, because he talks about her like she is nothing. I hope she does well in challenges, because I can definitely see her being dethroned if they were to ever go to Tribal Council! She is a strong competitor as she was in her previous seasons, which impresses me!
Mandy - She..is just amazing and she will always be amazing! I only fear that she is on a delayed road of trying to create relationships with others, but it is good to see that she did not get dethroned! I hope the tribe does see that she is an amazing person and can be a hard-working coach! I think Mandy also needs to be a bit more vocal with others and how she feels about certain things.
___________________________
Carlos - I don't like the way he refers to people as "useless" and all that. If I did not want to associate with a player, I would say something along the lines of "I'm not interested in wanting to work with ____" etc, in a more nicer way. The way he explains the situation with Derby and himself sounds like he wants to work with her, which is good, because I think she shouldn't be the first to go on their tribe. He seems to think pretty nicely, but maybe I just don't like the way he is going about his gameplay right now. Maybe my view will change later.
Derby & Patia - NEEDS TO MAKE MORE CONFESSIONALS! Although I like Patia more than I do Derby at the moment, because she is explaining more and coming off as a more of a teammate then Derby is to everyone else. They are both lovely women, but I have a feeling Patia will obviously outplay Derby in the beginning of the game.
Izzy - I am not learning much from her due to her 40sec / 1min videos of her barely saying much at all. She seems like a very peculiar person but she just needs to start showing SOMETHING.
Melissa - Goodness girl, I do adore you, but you made yourself out as the odd man out of your tribe if you guys go to Tribal Council next. I want her to make it far, so here is to hoping as a tribe they can win more challenges, because it looks like there is no way they will keep her around next time.
Reynolds - I adore him so much! I am glad he was given the first Salvation Cup. He does not deserve to be out this early, although I do dislike the fact that he wants to work with only the men, but I also understand where he is coming from since Melissa said she would vote for Dylan (randomly, ugh) and obviously did not. You are one of the few I am watching the most, and I don't really ever have a taste for male players but you are definitely an exception thus far!
Dylan & Fabian - I'm not sure, they just feel dull for me at the moment. I don't see a whole lot to explain here since Fabian does not have many confessionals and Dylan is just there in my opinion.
Stephanie - I find her so unique. She can go with either side and although she claims that she likes working with the boys, she keeps her options and her mind open to anything that comes her way. I thought she would just be a silent sit-down, but she has come out of that shell and has a good idea about things. I think we will see more from her as the weeks go by if she sticks around.
Desiree - My fantasy pick! You are so strong and very out there with the way you say things. Although, I do worry whether or not that will be her downfall or her up and coming strength. I don't want everyone to isolate her because she says it the way it is, because who else are you going to hear it from that way, honestly? I love how she has confronted Jay about the whole issue regarding Ricky vilifying him. She told him straightforward she has no problem with Ricky, and thank god she is working with Ricky, because I think she can go an extremely long way with him! I hope Travis won't come out of nowhere and try to go after her for no reason. I know that is random to say, but who else would Travis go after if he can't go after Ricky at the moment, and he is cool with Jay, you know?
That's about it for now!
